Group experiences designed to inspire mountain journeys

Join us for a unique mountain skills course in the West Highlands. Boost your skills and confidence for walking in the mountains in summer conditions. All courses are led by Anna Danby. Anna is a qualified Mountain Leader with over 15 years experience working in education and leadership. She has a wealth of experience in the Scottish mountains. A place she has spent many happy hours walking, running and climbing.

The courses all run over three days. This enables plenty of time to gain new knowledge and to put it into practice. Therefore, ensuring you leave feeling able to continue using these skills independently. They involve a variety of different practical sessions as well as a journey day through the mountains. Over the three days you will likely get the opportunity to complete one of the classic ridge walks of the area. Such as; Ben Nevis via the CMD arête, the Ring of Steall or The Grey Corries traverse.

We believe that enjoying time in the hills of Scottish Highlands is made even more special when you have a little understanding of the stories that shaped this landscape. As a result all of our courses combine learning practical skills with landscapes stores. For Example; navigation and route planning alongside discovering how the mountains were formed and shaped over time.


Maps & Mountains

This three day course is designed to increase your skills and confidence using maps to plan routes and navigate safely through a mountain environment.

You will also discover the stories of how the West Highlands were formed and shaped over time and how a little knowledge of geology can also be useful to finding your way in the hills.



Rocks & Ridges

This three day course is designed to increase your skills and confidence when walking in more technical terrain. Including movement on steep slopes, rocky ground and exposed ridges.
